On the morning of June 30, the emergency drill of the first-storage tank leak fire 

accident in Yunnan Refined Oil Pipeline was held in Kunming Branch of PetroChina

Southwest Pipeline.

The emergency drill was jointly held by the Anning Municipal Government and the

Kunming Branch of PetroChina Southwest Pipeline. The drill was simulated when the

50,000-square-meter diesel storage tank of the first station of Anning carried out oil 

collections, due to the failure of the liquid level monitoring high and low interlocking 

device during, it was resulted in failure of the floating plate seal and overflow of the 

product oil from the tank top vent. After the accident, the Kunming branch and the 

Anning Municipal Government, Yunnan Petrochemical, Northwest Sales and other 

departments and units quickly responded and coordinated, and finally successfully 

handled this major safety production accident. They used oil absorbent pads and 

oil skimmer for absorbing and recovering oil.
