In order to effectively improve irrigation and drainage conditions of farmland, Huaiyin District was accelerated 

the promotion of 2018 rural river dredging.

In 2018, the district will plan to dredge 6 districtlevel rivers and 16 rivers in the Shaying River, Nanhuaisi River, 

Dazhai River, lower section of the Huailian River, and the second trunk canal of the Huai River, and rectify 7 

administrative positions in 3 townships and the 370meter wood pile revetment was implemented on both banks 

of the ancient canal of Taishan Village, Matou Town.

Through the dredging and rectification of rural rivers by using silt curtains and dredger in recent years, the rivers

 in Huaiyin District have basically been dredged and rehabilitated, the conditions for agricultural irrigation and 

irrigation have been further improved, and the ability to resist natural disasters has been significantly improved. 

Up to now, Huaiyin District has completed dredging of 1.41 million cubic meters earthworks and completed 70% 

of the total project. It is expected that the dredging will be completed before the end of May.
