On October 30, Tangshan Downtown river channel dredging project was officially started. 

The project is a key construction project of the “Three-Year Action Plan for the Whole 

Area Governance of Qingshui Runcheng” and it is an important part of the implementation 

plan of “Building Ecological Tangshan and Realizing Green Development” proposed by the 

Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government.

The construction scope of the project involves 9 river systems, such as Douhe River, 

Qinglong River, Ligezhuang River, Longwangmiao River and Shiliu River in the main 

urban area of our city, with 82.5 kilometers dredging rivers and comprehensive river 

management. The construction of the project is expected to be completed by the

end of January 2019.

The implementation of the project aims to take advantage of the favorable construction 

timing of this winter and spring water conservancy project, fully promote the river siltation

removal, reduce the impact of endogenous pollution, and ensure the steady improvement 

of urban rivers and lakes. At the same time, it solves the emergency ecological water source

of small rivers around the main urban area, ensures ecological base flow, restores riverbed

water ecosystem, improves self-purification capacity and repair capacity, and effectively

improves urban and rural water ecological environment. It will deployed silt curtains for 

controlling the silt and waste.
