In order to improve emergency response capability, on November 22nd, 

Ningde Xiapu Maritime Department cooperated with the security 

supervision, environmental protection, port, and Yacheng Government 

to carry out the ship oil leakage emergency drill in Defu Oil Depot.

This drill was simulated when the “Jinzhou 288” ship was carrying out 

oil unloading at the dock; it happened oil leakage accident, which was 

causing sea pollution. The oil depot dock and the ship quickly started 

the emergency plan, closed the relevant valves, and arranged the 

deployment of the oil booms and oil absorbent pads and the spraying 

of oil dispersant. After nearly 3 hours of emergency disposal, the leakage 

was controlled and the marine oil spill was effectively controlled and cleared. 

Through this drill, it was tested the performance of oil spills in oil depots,

and the emergency response capabilities of various departments, oil depot 

employees, crew members and other parties were improved. After the drill,

the law enforcement officers summarized the drill and proposed rectification 

opinions.
