On December 18, Zhaoping Maritime Department cooperated with

Hezhou Maritime Department, Hezhou Municipal Transportation Bureau, 

Zhaoping County Transportation, Environmental Protection, Safety 

Supervision, and Tourism and other departments to carry out the

2018 ship and port oil spill pollution emergency accident drill in the

open waters of the Zhaoping Port Area Tourism Distribution Center. 

In the exercise, there were 4 ships including “Sea Patrol 10528” ship 

and “Guijiang 01” ship and other two ships, it was also dispatched 3 

law enforcement vehicles and more than 30 participants.

The drill was simulated an old tourist ship has about 20L of oil spills near 

the dock. After the "accident" occurred, the captain immediately

reported the oil spill situation to the travel company and the Zhaoping 

Maritime Department and requested maritime support. After received 

the police, the Maritime Department immediately sent law enforcement 

officers to bring oil absorbent pads to the accident waters for emergency 

treatment guidance and traffic warning. At the same time, they 

coordinated the nearby vessels to participate in the on-site rescue, and 

used the oil absorbent pads to block and adsorb the oil,and recycle the 

oil to the shore.After all parties' intense cooperation, an "accident" that 

may cause environmental pollution was effectively controlled and the 

exercise was achieved a complete success.

As one of the characteristics of Zhaoping tourism, River is more arduous in 

the task of prevention and emergency response of ships in polluted waters. 

Through the organization of oil spill emergency drills, the relevant units have

improved their rapid response, emergency dispose and coordinated operations 

of emergency ship oil spill; it was effectively accumulated practical experience

in dealing with emergencies, and jointly maintained the ecological environment 

of Zhaoping waters.
