Recently, Binhai County Shugang waterway has been checked and accepted, 

which was indicating full navigation of the waterway. The Acceptance 

Committee heard the work report from the construction, design, construction,

supervision, quality supervision and other departments, inspected the site of 

the waterway project, consulted the project materials, and determined that

the quality of the project was qualified, met the conditions for acceptance 

of the work, and agreed to pass the acceptance check.

The Binhai County Shugang Waterway Project is an important part of the 

development and construction of the Yancheng Port Binhai Port Area. It 

is one of the backbone waterways in the “One Vertical, Ten Horizontal 

and Six Links” trunk line network of Yancheng City. It is the communication 

channel of the Northern Jiangsu Province. It is also the main route of the 

North Jiangsu Channel Network and it is also the only waterway in Binhai 

County Coastal Industrial Park, and it is an important horizontal channel in 

the south of Xiangshui and the northern part of Binhai. In the coastal port 

area collection and distribution planning, it undertakes the collection and 

transportation of bulk cargo and coal in Binhai Port Area. The total length 

of the waterway is 62.1 kilometers, which is constructed according to 

the standard of the fourth-class navigation channel, including the waterway 

engineering, ship lock engineering and bridge engineering. The new 

revetment of the waterway project is 56.2 kilometers, the excavation 

earthwork is 6.795 million square meters, and the new ship locks are 

built two, namely the Binhai ship lock and the Yunyan River ship lock, 

the both scale is 180×18×4 meters; the bridge project is a new and 

reconstructed bridge. The project will permanently acquire 3,149 mu 

of land and 28,700 square meters of demolished houses. The total 

estimated investment of the project is 1.144 billion yuan, including 

440 million yuan for the waterway project, 332 million yuan for the 

ship lock project and 372 million yuan for the bridge project. The ship 

lock project and bridge project were completed and completed in 

2016. It was used silt curtains for waterway silt and garbage cleaning.
