storage buckets fell into the river and drifted downstream, endangering the safety of the downstream 

bridge..." On the afternoon of the 21st, Chongqing City's 2019 water traffic accident comprehensive 

emergency drills was carried out in the Zengjiayan waters of Jialing River.

The drill was divided into three subjects: life-saving assistance, uncontrolled ship interception and towing, 

and oil spill disposal. Multi-purpose rescue tugboats, high-powered rescue pushers, high-speed assault boats,

unmanned ships and other water rescue equipment were unveiled together onsite.

During the rescue, two high-speed assault boats rushed to the waters of the incident to carry out search 

and rescue. After searching, the rescuers found that the water situation of the three drowning people was 

complicated, and the assault boat could not get close. Then, the life-saving equipment such as drones, unmanned 

ships and rope throwers were used, and the life jackets and lifebuoys were sent to the drowning personnel and 

then took the drowning personnel away from the dangerous waters and sent them to the shore by the assault 

boat, and then hand over to 120 for treatment.

According to reports, the UAVs involved in the rescue can conduct aerial surveillance on the scene of the 

accident and remotely deploy life-saving equipment. Unmanned vessels can take care of underwater terrain

surveys and emergency rescues. When rescue vessels cannot get close to the drowning, they can put lifebuoys 

on the drowners and tow them out of dangerous waters.

Subsequently, the high-powered tugboat "Yu Rescue 113" ship carried out adrag-and-drop operations on the

out-of-control freighter. The multi-purpose rescue boat "Yu 111" ship, cruise search and rescue boat and other 

boats placed heavy oil booms on site, and applied oil skimmers to dispose of oil spills on the river surface.

According to reports, the “Yu rescue 111" ship is a steel multi-functional rescue tugboat, which has an on-site 

command room and a video conference system to transmit real-time images of the scene of the accident. The 

stern deck is equipped with a heavy oil booms with 300 meters, a 5 tons of 20-meter 360 degree full swing sling

crane, 2 doors of fire cannon and a material reserve hopper, which can carry out emergency rescue command, 

rescue ship rescue, oil spill disposal. In addition, the "Yu rescue 113" ship involved in the rescue is a large-horsepower 

steel rescue push wheel, which can be towed and pushed to the rescue ship.

It is understood that this drill was hosted by the Chongqing Municipal Transportation Bureau and undertaken by 

the Chongqing Port and Shipping Administration. The Municipal Transportation Bureau said that they hope to test 

emergency plans, exercise emergency teams, and run-in linkage mechanism to continuously improve the city's 

water traffic emergency rescue capabilities through conducting emergency drills in closing to actual combat.
