On the morning of June 12, with the three red signal flares lifted off, Wu'an I Standard 2019 

Safety Production Monthly Water Emergency Rescue and Pollution Prevention Drill was kicked 

off at the construction site of the Shazhou Waterway in the I section of the Wu'an section 

waterway improvement project.

The drill was sponsored by the Project Manager of the Wu'an Section of the Yangtze River 

Yichang Waterway Engineering Bureau, The drill was dispatched 14 ships including large 

sinking ships, professional rescue boats, patrol boats, navigation boats, passenger ships and 

cargo ships, and more than 80 participants participated in this drill. The drill was begun with 

the fire fighting starting of "Changyan 8" ship ", and exercised "Ship Initial Fire Fighting Drill", 

"Personnel Accidental Falling Water Search and Rehearsal Exercise", "Ship Collision Emergency 

Towing Simulation Exercise", "Construction Sign Ectopic and rehabilitation drill” and “oil spill 

emergency disposal drill by deploying oil booms and oil absorbent pads.

This drill is a comprehensive test of Wu'an I standard water rescue construction and water 

emergency handling capabilities, and it is of great significance for improving emergency rescue 

capabilities. Through this drill, the awareness of safety production prevention of all personnel 

of Wu'an I Project Department was enhanced, the self-rescue and mutual rescue abilities were

 improved, and the actual experience of water emergency rescue was accumulated, which 

provided a strong guarantee for construction safety and improved the project. It also improved 

the cooperation mechanism between the project department and maritime, public security, 

waterway and other units. 

In the next step, the project department will focus on the water safety work during the flood 

season, and implement various safety precautions in advance to ensure that the water safety 

situation continues to be stable.
