Recently, Liyang City Emergency Management Bureau, Xiangyang Ecological Environment Bureau, 

Transportation Bureau, Public Security Bureau and other departments jointly organized Jiangsu 

Tianmuhu Tourism Co., Ltd. to hold Tianmu Lake Water Scenic Area emergency drill.

The drill was divided into four projects: anti-terrorism, rock hitting of the cruise ship, the fire 

of cruise ship, and oil spill due to the speedboat collision. “Liyang Ecological Environment Bureau, 

here is the Tianmu Lake Tourism Company, the speedboat was occurred collision on the 

lakeside side of the lake in the Tianmu Lake Scenic Area, the oil tank was overflowed with oil, 

we requested assistance!” After received the order, the Ecological Environment Bureau 

immediately launched an emergency plan, according to the principle of “control first and then 

dispose”, they required the travel company to immediately use the vessel to tow the oil booms 

to the collision area of the speedboat in the west side of the lake for preventing the oil spill 

area expanding and use the oil absorbent pads to remove the oil spill on the lake. Due to 

the proper disposal, the oil spill area was controlled and the oil spill was quickly cleared. The 

ecological environment bureau continuously monitored the water quality in the oil spill area, 

and the water quality was returned to normal, and they ensured the safety of the drinking 

water source. The emergency drill has achieved success through the joint efforts of various 

departments.

Through this drill, it was tested the emergency response capacity of the Liyang Ecological 

Environment Bureau and provided a solid guarantee for the safety of the drinking water source.
