On June 2, Shantou Maritime Bureau cooperated with some departments to carry out 

the Meixi River waters pollution emergency drill with the theme of "Beautiful Hanjiang, 

I am the Guardian".

"Shantou Maritime Bureau, I am the Meixi River Bridge Construction Project Department. 

I found a lot of oil pollution on the river surface near the operating platform and 

requested support!" After receiving the alarm, the maritime, water affairs, 

environmental protection, public security and other departments immediately 

started the water pollution emergency plan and emergency response, the 

maritime department and the speedboat team of the public security rushed 

to the scene to strengthen the on-site security alert and set up prevention

and control areas on the site to prevent unrelated ships and personnel 

from entering the oil pollution site.

The maritime personnel immediately organized the boat and personnel to 

take oil and water samples and started the investigation as soon as they 

arrived at the scene. At the same time, they organized the navigation 

mark official ships and water decontamination ships that arrived at the 

scene to clean up the "oil pollution".

Beacon ships use oil booms to surround "oil pollution" for preventing 

diffusion and reducing losses caused by pollution. The water 

decontamination vessel immediately threw oil absorbent pads to 

clean the surface. Various clean-up operations are being carried out 

in an orderly and tense and orderly manner. Finally, the oil absorbent pads

has been salvaged to the shore after absorbing, the river surface has 

been effectively cleaned, and the emergency drill has been successfully 

concluded.
