On June 21st, in order to conscientiously implement the work requirements 

of “Safety First, Safe Development” of the Safety Production Month and 

improve the actual combat capability of the anti-pollution of the joint 

defense body of the JIaolingjiang waters wharf, the ship oil spill 

emergency drill was kicked off in the front waters of Tianqi Oil

Terminal in Jiaolingjiang waters,Taizhou.

The drill was simulated a ship was collided with the dock in the waters 

of the Tianqi oil terminal in Taizhou, which caused the leakage of 1 ton

fuel oil. The ship launched the "Ship Oil Pollution Emergency Plan" 

and reported the accident to the shipping company and the Taizhou

Maritime Oil Spill Response Center.

At 9:30 in the morning, after received the report, the Taizhou Maritime 

Oil Spill Response Center started the anti-pollution emergency plan 

and ordered the Taizhou Linhai Maritime Department to organize the

clean-up forces to carry out the oil pollution control and clearing 

according to the emergency plan. After received the instructions, 

the Taizhou Linhai Maritime Department immediately launched 

emergency response procedures to conduct temporary traffic control 

over the accidental waters, and immediately ordered the Jiaolingjiang 

Wharf Joint Defence Body to go for disposing. Zhonghe No. 1 and 

Zhonghe No. 3 ships arrived at the scene of the accident. The clean-up

ship carried the anti-pollution emergency disposal equipment to the 

accident waters, through the deployment of the oil booms, throwing

the oil absorbing mats, using the oil skimmer to intercept and remove 

the leaking fuel oil for preventing the oil from spreading with the water flow.

At 11:00 pm, under the cooperation of the participating departments, the

oil spill was cleared and the drill was successfully completed. The drill was

fast reponsed and the disposal measures were effective. The whole process 

was orderly, busy and not chaotic. It comprehensively improved the 

proficiency of the anti-pollution equipment of the Jiaolingjiang Waters 

terminal on the use and operation of anti-pollution equipment, and improved the oil spill response in the jurisdiction. It was also improved the dispose of 

reaction speed and actual combat capability, and it was achieved the desired results.
