Yesterday morning, the 2018 Luzhou waters oil spill joint rehearsal was held 

in the Huangjiaqi waters. The rehearsal was jointly organized by the Yangtze

River Navigation Administration of the Ministry of Transport, the Sichuan

Provincial Department of Transportation, and the People's Government of 

Ganzhou City.

The rehearsal was simulated during the dry season, the oil tanker hit the reef 

and then tanker was damaged in the Shipeng waters of the Luzhou section,

it was caused about 60 tons of diesel leaked into the river. After it, it was also

resulted in a 10 kilometers oil belt between Shipeng and Hejiaba waters, and 

there was a tendency to rapidly spread trending, Luzhou water environment 

and the downstream direction of multiple water intakes had a serious threat. 

After received the report, the Luzhou Changjiang Water Search and Rescue 

Center promptly started an oil spill emergency plan and carried out oil spill 

disposal. The entire rehearsal was included site exploration and monitoring, 

water traffic control, deployment of oil booms, and oil disposal and recovery 

of oil spills by using oil absorbent pads and oil skimmer.
